We have thousands of books in our back room and are constantly changing up the books that are out. The entire Christian Fiction section has been changed up this week, and we’ve pulled out additional stock in all of our other sections too. This morning, we’ve restocking the sale table with all new stuff!

The sale table is fun – all genres are mixed together, so you can find a bit of everything there. Take a peek – lots of these books are ones we just have too many copies of, so our lack of space can mean a real bargain for you! This time around, all the books are $3 each or 4 for $10, and the sale includes big name authors like Kathy Reichs, Terry Goodkind, James Patterson, Dean Koontz and Maeve Binchy. The sale table also includes an assortment of non-fiction, from diet books like Dr. Atkins or Body for Life to well-being books by Dr. Phil, from the feel good Chicken Soup books to true crime stories, and of course some history and natural history books too!

We’re pretty excited over at Faking Sanity today. The reason? Our first Namaste shipment just arrived! What is this all about, you ask? Namaste is a small company that sells awesome bags and purses ( and wallets and knitting needle cases and…)

They’re beautiful bags that are very practical with lots of appropriate pockets and the like, and they are extremely well made. They also come in an awesome range of colours – my favourites are the lime and eggplant. They’re all PVC free and animal friendly, and they feel like the softest, butteriest leather. We’ve got several styles of bags, wallets and knitting needle case in various colours. Here’s a glimpse:

A Year? It Can’t Be!

It’s hard to believe that a year ago, I was on my way to the Greyhound to move to Dawson Creek and take ownership of our new business!

So much has changed since then! I moved to a new province, learned all about renovating (I AM the spackle queen), I painted for a hundred years (or so it seemed), washed and inventoried millions of books (well, several thousand, at least), got my (learner’s) drivers license and helped run a restaurant/coffee shop/tea house/bookstore for 10 months! We even survived additional competition in the form of several new restaurants and tea and coffee shops.

So… to celebrate, we’re planning a little something for September in honour of our one year anniversary. Stay tuned!
