Look What’s New!
Posted by mtlaise - 27/01/11 at 05:01:33 pmThere’s lots starting up this month at Faking Sanity! Here’s a quick look:
Jan 28 – The first Heritage Makers Digi-Crop drop-in class takes place at the store from 6:30 to 8:30. Come in to learn how to get your photos out of the box and into a professionally bound book, using easy drag and drop tools and templates with the Heritage Workshop online publishing system.
January 29 – It’s the Singer/Songwriters Association’s monthly Coffee House. Come in for an evening of great music.
From February 4th to 25th, as part of Dawson’s very own Spirit Festival, our walls will be adorned by beautiful quilts created by local artisans. The Festival is also providing a bus tour of the various venues and exhibits. On February 25th, you can catch the bus from the art gallery at 6 pm; the last stop is right here at Faking Sanity.
February will also see the launch of the new “Novelteens” program, run by the Dawson Creek Literary Society and Reconnect Youth Services, and hosted at Faking Sanity. Stay tuned for more details about this exciting endeavour as the start date approaches!
Books, Books, Books!
Posted by mtlaise - 18/01/11 at 01:01:44 pmWe’re taking advantage of the post-snow lull to enter lots of books into our inventory. So far, we have lots of new History/Poli-Sci books, as well as a bunch of new Religion/Spirituality books. Or ask about our recommendations for a good, light read to curl up by the fire with!
New additions
Posted by mtlaise - 11/01/11 at 06:01:14 pmWe’ve been working through all our books, and have now added a Graphic Novel/Manga section. Come check it out, right next to Sci-Fi/Fantasy.
Other recent additions are our Action/Adventure section (including series such as Outlanders, Mack Bolan, Destroyer etc) and Christian Fiction section (including novels by Janette Oke, Frank Peretti, Karen Kingsbury, T. Davis Bunn, along with many others). You can find there right next to General Fiction.

Welcome to 2011 at Faking Sanity
Posted by mtlaise - 03/01/11 at 09:01:34 amWe’re now re-open after the holidays. Come join us for all your caffeine needs, or a variety of healthy caffeine-free options, such as Yoga Blend herbal tea or Casablanca fruit infusions, amond many others.
We also have a few additions to the menu this year, so come try out a ham and cheese biscuit sandwich or a bowl of yummy bread pudding, or even have a spinach salad, which has become part of the regular menu due to popular demand.
Please also note that we have new hours for 2011. We will be open from 10-5 Monday-Wednesday and Saturday, and 10-9 on Thursday and Friday. Of course, our regular knit/craft night will be resuming this Thursday evening, too.
